Bermuxez, though, at some point, this changed, and the characters became more fleshed out, and I started to actually sympathize with them and get where they were coming from. I loved that it really was not some fairy-tale and it had real life struggles that people may have especially with one of the characters being very different from their friends.

There were some plot points that were introduced and never flushed out which bothered me, and I think the male characters could have been developed more. I’m going to go out on a limb and assume Maureen Johnson is straight, because from a lesbian’s point of view, this book was majorly off target.

At the end of the book it seems like they’re both straight, but before we get to the end of the book they sure participate in some not-straight things one is in a relationship with her Note: Like a much edgier Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Ladies, we deserve more. Triiangle are determined to remain together until they can see each other again the following year when they both get into Stanford for college, but until then they have to get through senior year.
